MANIFESTO
You've heard it all before.
Wake up earlier. Book the 5 a.m. class. Meditate. Journal. Hydrate. Be softer. Be calmer. Be nicer. Be humble. Be grateful. Slow down.
But don't be lazy.
Have boundaries, but don't be difficult. Be confident, but not loud. Look good, but don't be vain. Be honest, but never blunt. Have standards, but don't expect too much.
There is always one more thing.
One more habit to build. One more version of yourself to chase. One more piece of yourself to correct.
All in the name of self-improvement. Of becoming your “best self”.
And for a while, you tried.
You smiled through bad moods. Nodded through advice you didn't ask for. Traded nights you would never forget for morning routines you thought you were supposed to want.
You tried to be better and somehow just felt… worse.
Because better is always just out of reach.
If you're too busy fixing yourself you won't realize you were never broken to begin with.
You'll become quieter. Easier. Smaller.
Because it was never about making you better. It was about making you palatable.
And the second you stop performing? When you say exactly what you mean, stop editing every reaction, or refuse to explain away every imperfect moment?
You're Difficult. Dramatic. A bitch.
Regardless of the label the message is the same — you're too loud, too messy, too direct, too confident, too emotional, too demanding, too aggressive, too much.
And somehow never enough.
Every bad mood doesn't need a journal prompt. Every late night doesn't need a detox. Every messy week doesn't need a Sunday reset.
You don't have to say it's fine when it isn't. Apologize when you're not sorry or soften your response for the sake of someone else's ego.
We've spent enough time editing ourselves into a version easier to consume. Of allowing ourselves to be distracted by the promise of becoming someone we never wanted to be anyway.
So sure.
We are difficult when our boundaries stop being negotiable.
We are dramatic when we stop minimizing what hurt us.
We are bitches when our confidence makes them question their own.
And we are way too damn much.
Pretending to be anything less?
We can't be bothered.
